Hello! My name is Chang-Ming.

I'm a regional business development specialist and multi-disciplinary designer — though I've never held a job with "designer" in the title. Somehow, creative work always finds me. Or maybe I find my way into it regardless.

My experience spans policy planning and operationalisation, service-design-informed systems thinking, market entry, regional business development in consumer goods, and merchandising and product development in lifestyle segment.

That experience informs my approach to design. To me, design is a way to structure complex ideas and turn them into real-world outcomes, not as decoration, but as the thing that makes strategy actually land.

Culture × Language × Instinct
Taiwanese by birth, Singapore has been home since I was 12 — when I arrived alone, speaking zero English, and figured it out. A decade later, I spent two years in Tokyo studying entirely in Japanese at Waseda, interning across Japanese corporates including Hmlet Japan, Kinki Nippon Tourists, and the Japan International Relations Forum. That lived experience of cultural reinvention — three times over — is what makes cross-cultural fluency less a skill and more a reflex.
Commercial × Creative Range

Commercial × Creative Range
A background spanning retail industry development at Enterprise Singapore, FMCG e-commerce at THG, and wholesale trade at HARIO means my business decisions are grounded in how markets actually work beyond just how they look on a deck. That same rigour carries into design: I approach briefs the way I approach commercial problems. The result is work that looks considered because it was built to function, and functions because it was designed to be understood and solve problems with commercial impact.
Systems thinking × delivery

Systems thinking × delivery
Strategy without execution is a document. I close the gap between the two: designing the system, then building it. From architecting Singapore's retail COVID compliance infrastructure across 220 malls to redesigning HARIO's entire product knowledge system from the ground up, the work is always service-design informed: map the actors, design the touchpoints, operationalise the process. The plan and the delivery are the same job.
